Gravenhurst High School Remembrance Day fundraiser raises over $1,200

Trillium Lakelands District School Board

GRAVENHURST - Students from the Gravenhurst High School (GHS) ceramic and art class, along with their Teacher Aimée Bulloch, created hand-made ceramic poppies for Remembrance Day.

The class tested the idea of selling the ceramic poppies at the GHS Empty Bowls fundraiser that took place in September. By the end of the night, the class had a full list of orders.

The poppies were made out of clay and sold for $5 each. Altogether, about 250 poppies were sold, raising over $1,200. The money will be donated to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Huntsville, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, and Bala branches.
