According to the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce it's been 6 years since residents and visitors had the chance to ski, fatbike and snowshoe on a snow covered Main Street in Huntsville.
This will all change on February 21 and 22 as Huntsville SnowFest makes a comeback.
SnowFest is a free, family friendly, two-day festival featuring a weekend full of outdoor winter activities on a snow-covered Main Street in downtown Huntsville. The event kicks off on Friday Feb. 21 with a Downtown Pub Crawl where participating restaurants and bars will feature unique winter food, cocktails and live music throughout the evening, while guests are able to go bar-to-bar via horse drawn sleigh ride.
On Saturday Feb. 22, SnowFest begins with a full day of events including Nordic an alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, fatbiking, skating, axe throwing, and even snoga. At 4 p.m. the first annual Muskoka Fatbike Race will take place - a 850 m lap race on Main Street. The festival's Saturday evening feature entertainment is Blackie and the Rodeo Kings at the Algonquin Theatre thanks to the Huntsville Festival of the Arts.
