Ripple of Kindness (ROK) Muskoka Chapter is set to present its inaugural collective donation to Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services this Thursday.
The group was formed in September of 2019, the Ripple of Kindness Muskoka Chapter is an opportunity for women to support registered charities that serve our local community through collective giving. The original Ripple of Kindness group was started in Barrie in 2016 and has seen chapters grow in Orillia, Muskoka and soon London. The collective giving structure of the group allows these donations to make a big difference to the charities in the community.
ROK members are asked to nominate a charity which they are passionate about, and then donate $200 each (tax receipt included) twice per year to the charities that are voted on by the members. These quarterly meetings are called Socials, with a focus on having fun with a group of like-minded women in the community.
ROK members will gather Feb. 27 for their Giving Social, to donate a minimum of $3,800 to support the vital services Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services provides.
Upon hearing that MPSSAS was the chosen charity, Executive Director Lauren Power had this to say to the group.
“Thank you. Two words, but your gift means so much. I am absolutely thrilled that you chose us. It truly is kindness to extend generosity to others who are struggling.”
This donation will grow with each new member of ROK Muskoka and new members are always welcome. It is very easy to take part as the nominating, voting and donating can all be done online. The Socials are focused on having fun and making new friends. As a group committed to representing all of Muskoka, ROK Muskoka Socials will be held throughout the region and the group is always looking for venues and sponsors to help make these a successful evening.
The giving social will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at The Table Soup
Kitchen Foundation, located at 9 Hanes Street in Huntsville. If you're interested in attending as a guest or to become a member, please email email@example.com or visit www.rippleofkindness-muskoka.com and follow ROK Muskoka on Facebook and Instagram
