Muskoka Airport; Skyservice Business Aviation Inc. is now part of the Gravenhurst business community

GRAVENHURST - On Monday, Oct 28 Skyservice Business Aviation Inc., announced the purchase of the Muskoka Aircraft Center Hangar facility and Approved Maintenance Organization in Gravenhurst.

Skyservice is a provider of business aviation services.

The 60,000-square-foot hangar provides Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services, matching Skyservice’s current offerings in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. The new facility serves as an AMO and focuses on providing customers with maintenance services on regional, commercial and corporate aircraft.

“I am so pleased that a world class industry leader such as Skyservice has landed a home here at the Muskoka Airport,” said district of Muskoka Chair John Klinck. “We are flattered that Skyservice has selected our community. Our Airport Board of Directors, council and staff look forward to working with the management team at Skyservice to facilitate a smooth transition and leverage further aviation-related employment opportunities here in Muskoka.”

Gravenhurst Mayor Paul Kelly said the company will bring employment and new business opportunities to the region.

“Over the past few years Gravenhurst staff and councillors have been working towards assisting the Muskoka Airport to become an economic driver not only for our community but also for the whole of Muskoka,” said Kelly.

As an authorized service facility in Canada for many Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Bombardier, Gulfstream, Dassault/Falcon and HondaJet, Skyservice is the aircraft maintenance facility of choice for many of Canada’s leading corporations, leasing companies and commercial airlines. Skyservice performs maintenance and warranty services through its maintenance group for its own managed aircraft as well as for other fleets.
