Township of Lake of Bays reminded residents about Ontario’s COVID-19 emergency order by posting the below message on their social media feed accompanied by a picture of a hefty fail to comply fine issued by the Huntsville OPP.

“The #HvilOPP issued a Provincial Offence under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act. Failing to comply with an order made during an emergency. No social gatherings of more than 5 people, including private functions.“

The message from the Simcoe Muskoka public health unit has been consistent that only immediate household members should be within close proximity of each other. The unit suggests relying on technology to keep connected with family and friends.
