Township of Muskoka Lakes


The Township is working closely with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and other community partners to monitor the global situation and respond accordingly.


Effective immediately and out of an abundance of caution, the Township is making changes to services and programming.


Please be advised of the following changes:


Muskoka Lakes Public Library: All library programs have be cancelled. The Bala and Port Carling Libraries will remain open under regular hours of operation.


Public Skating: March Break Public Skating at the Bala and Port Carling Arenas has been cancelled.


Community Centres: Scheduled private rentals at the community centres will remain available over the weekend at the discretion of the renter. These facilities will be closed effective Monday, March 16, 2020.


Bala and Port Carling Arena: Scheduled private rentals at arenas will remain available over the weekend at the discretion of the renter. These facilities will be closed effective Monday, March 16, 2020.


District of Muskoka Programs: The District of Muskoka has suspended programming held at Township facilities. Please visit the District website for further details.


Those impacted by cancellations and closures will be contacted directly. All refunds will be honoured.


If you or anyone you have close contact with is feeling unwell, please refrain from entering Municipal facilities. Muskoka Lakes encourage the public to continue to conduct regular business through the township’s website, phone or email.
